AInterval Timer Photography

Interval timer photography can not be combined with long time-exposures (bulb photography, 0 79) or live view (0 49) or time-lapse (0 168) photography and is not available in movie live view (0 57) or when Record movies is selected for Custom Setting g4 (Assign shutter button, 0 248).

ARelease Mode

Regardless of the release mode selected, the camera will take the specified number of shots at each interval. Photographs will be taken at up to 6 shots per second in CH (continuous high-speed mode) or at up to 3 shots per second in Mmode. In S (single frame) and CL (continuous low-speed) modes, photographs will be taken at the rate chosen for Custom Setting d5 (CL mode shooting speed, 0 229). In modes Jand M, camera noise will be reduced.

ABracketing

Adjust bracketing settings before starting interval timer photography. If exposure, flash, or ADL bracketing is active while interval timer photography is in effect, the camera will take the number of shots in the bracketing program at each interval, regardless of the number of shots specified in the interval timer menu. If white balance bracketing is active while interval timer photography is in effect, the camera will take one shot at each interval and process it to create the number of copies specified in the bracketing program.

ADuring Shooting

During interval timer photography, the Qicon in the control panel will flash. Immediately before the next shooting interval begins, the shutter speed display will show the number of intervals remaining, and the aperture display will show the number of shots remaining in the current interval. At other times, the number of intervals

remaining and the number of shots in each interval can be viewed by pressing the shutter- release button halfway (once the button is released, the shutter speed and aperture will be displayed until the standby timer expires).

To view current interval timer settings, select Interval timer shooting between shots. While interval timer photography is in progress, the interval timer menu will show the starting time, the shooting interval, and the number of intervals and shots remaining. None of these items can be changed while interval timer photography is in progress.

Pictures can be played back and shooting and menu settings can be adjusted freely while t interval timer photography is in progress. The monitor will turn off automatically about four

seconds before each interval.
