Use this mode to achieve a natural balance between the main subject and background lighting in portraits taken at night.
•Focus will be set on people's faces if it recognizes people's faces (front view). See, “Face Priority” (A91) for more information.
•If more than one face is recognized, focus will be on the face nearest to the camera.
•If no faces are recognized, focus will be on the center of the screen.
•Digital zoom is not available.

Captures the effects of candlelight and other indoor background lighting.
•Camera focuses on subject in center of frame.

Captures the brightness of such subjects as snowfields, beaches, or sunlit expanses of water.

O: For those scene modes with O, use of a tripod is recommended. Turn vibration reduction (A107) [Off] when using a tripod.
Q: For those scene modes with Q, noise reduction is carried out automatically so the time taken to save an image will be longer than usual.
