Messages (Menu 2)

With the Short Message Service (SMS) network service you can send text and picture messages to phones which have SMS capability. In this menu you can write and read text and picture messages. You can also listen to voice messages and change message settings.

To access this menu: In standby

mode, press (Menu), scroll to

Messages, and press (Select).

Before you can send text or picture messages, you need to save your message centre number in the phone. See ”Message settings (Menu 2-7)”on page 17.

Note: When sending messages via the SMS network service, your phone may display the words Message sent. This is an indication that the message has been sent by your phone to the message centre number programmed into your phone. This is not an indication that the message has been received at the intended destination. For more details about SMS services, check with your service provider.

Writing and sending a text message (Write messages - Menu 2-1)

You can write and send multi-part text messages that may contain almost three ordinary text messages (network service). Invoicing is based on how many ordinary messages are needed for any multi-part message.

To exit from this menu at any time to standby mode, press and hold twice. Alternatively: Press (Options), scroll to Exit, and press (OK).

1.Write the message (see ”Writing text” on page 8). The number of available characters and the current message part number are shown on the top right of the display.

By pressing (Options) you can access the following functions that help you in writing the message: Template, Insert smiley, Insert word, Insert number, Insert symbol, Dictionary.

Select Template to use a preset message available in the phone as a part of your message. See also ”Templates (Menu 2-5)”on page 17.

Select Dictionary to set predictive text input on or off.
