7. Menu functions

Messages

You can receive and read short text
messages on your car kit phone and
either call the sender back or send an
answering SMS using a messag e
template (network service). However, before you can send y our
own short messages, you will have to make some necessary
Message settings.
xRemember that traffic safety comes first. Don’t use a hand-
held phone while driving and only use the features offered
by your car kit phone when traffic conditions permit this.
xWhen sending messages via the SMS network service, your
car kit phone may display the words Message sent. This is
only an indication that the message has been sent by your
car kit phone to the message centre number programmed
into your phone. This does not mean that the message has
been received at the intended destination.
Inbox
When you have received an SMS, the
indicator and the number of new
messages are shown on the display along
with the notification 1 new message
received.
Any short messages sent to your car kit phone are shown in the
order in which they are re ceived.
yIf you have established a Bluetooth SIM Access Profile
connection to a compatible mobi le phone, all short
messages received by the car kit phone are automatically
forwarded to this compatible mo bile phone.
Unread text messages are indicated by , whilst read text
messages are indicated by the symbol.
A flashing SMS indicator means that the message memory
is full. To be able to send or receive a ne w message, you will first
have to delete some of the old ones.
If you have received more t han one text message:
aSelect the Messages menu and press to open it.
aSelect the Inbox option and press to view the list of
messages.
aScroll with to the desired message and press to
read it.
aScroll with to either brow se through the message or
display the message itself, the sender or sender’s phone
number, and the date and time the message was received.
Your car kit phone comes with a number of options for handling
the message selected.
aPress .
aScroll with to the desired option and press to
select it.
