Digital Audio Out settings
Setting Option What it means
Digital Out On Digital audio is output from the digital outputs.
Off No digital audio output.
Dolby Digital Out
Dolby Digital Dolby Digital encoded digital audio is output when playing a
Dolby Digital DVD disc.
Dolby Digital > PCM Dolby Digital audio is converted to PCM audio before being
output.
DTS Out
DTS
DTS encoded digital audio is output when playing a DTS disc.
(Noise will be output if your amplifier/receiver is not compatible
with DTS audio.)
DTS > PCM No digital audio is output when playing a DTS disc. DTS audio
is converted to PCM audio before being output.
96kHz PCM Out 96kHz > 48kHz 96kHz digital audio is converted to 48kHz for digital output.
96kHz 96kHz digital audio is output as is at 96kHz.
MPEG Out
MPEG MPEG encoded digital audio is output as is.
MPEG > PCM MPEG encoded digital audio is converted to PCM audio for
digital output.
HDMI Out
LPCM (2 CH)
Set if your monitor or device only accepts stereo input. On this
setting multichannel audio is downmixed to 2 channels for ste-
reo linear PCM output. (In case of DTS source, the HDMI
audio output is turned off.)
Auto
Dolby Digital, DTS and MPEG sources are processed accord-
ing to how they were encoded, but if your amplifier/monitor is
not compatible with DTS audio, DTS audio output from HDMI
is turned off. Linear PCM sources are heard as is.
Off No digital audio output. Choose this option when you want to
change the “Digital Audio Out”.
