Operation
Use a RAM module meeting the RAM module specifications below. If a module is used that
does not meet the specifications, there are cases in which data may become unusable or the
computer may not operate properly.

Contact your technical support office to confirm recommended RAM module.
Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. shall bear no responsibility whatsoever for failures
or damage caused by the use of non-recommended RAM modules, or by incorrect installa-
tion or removal of such modules. Before installing a RAM module, confirm the product type
and the correct installation method.
There are two modes: Max. 266 MHz (equivalent to PC2100) and Max. 333 MHz (equiva-
lent to PC2700). These modes can be switched using [Memory/Video Power Save] in the
Setup Utility. ( “Setup Utility”) At the time of purchase, [Memory/Video Power
Save] is set to [Battery Optimized] (266 MHz (equivalent to PC2100)). When changed to
[Max Performance], this becomes 333 MHz (equivalent to PC2700).

Inserting / Removing the RAM Module

CAUTION
RAM modules are extremely sensitive to static electricity. There are cases where
static electricity generated by the human body has adversely affected such modules.
When inserting or removing a RAM module, do not touch the terminals or internal
components, insert objects other than the module, or allow foreign particles to enter.
Doing so has been known to cause damage, fire or electric shock.
CAUTION
If the RAM module is difficult to insert or difficult to press down, do not force it. Check
once more to ensure that the module is positioned correctly.
Use the proper size screw driver to insure that the screw does not get stripped.

Power off your computer.

Do not shut down using the standby or hibernation function.
Disconnect the AC adaptor.

Turn the computer over and remove the battery pack and the

screw (A), then remove the cover (B).

Insert/Remove RAM module.

Inserting the RAM module
1Check direction of a RAM module (C).
Hold the RAM module in the direction that the notch (E) of the RAM module
suits to the protrusion (D) of the slot.
