Passport number and photograph are captured in

0.1seconds, with processed data output, in approximately 1 second. IC data from Japanese passports is read in 2 seconds. Since conventional ePassport readers require PCs to process OCR and BAC*1 data, their processing time depends on PC performance. Panasonic ePassport Readers comes with embedded circuitry to handle OCR and BAC processing, eliminating the need for PCs and making them easier to install wherever needed.
