Like mostother greataudio components,your D/AC-1500 needsto operatefor at least72 hours beforeit will startsoundingits best. This allows the materialsof various internalpartsto "form" sothey canbetterprocessthe complexitiesof musicalwaveforms. While your unit will sound spectacularright out of its carton,you11find it worthwhile to listen againafter a few days. You11 discoverdetails in your music you wouldn'thaveguessedwere there.

Maintaining your D/AC-1500

Your OfAC-1500 needsno routinemaintenance.We do recommendthatyou removeandtwist the variousRCA connectionsoncea yearto removeany corrosionbuildup on plugsandjacks. Make surethe power is turned ofTbeforeattemptingthis. It'snot a bad ideato do this for eachof your othercomponentswhile you'reat it.

Neveruseany commercialcleanersor abrasiveson the front panelor top cover - they will likely scratchor disfigure them. Useonly a soft cloth, if necessaryslightly dampto removefingerprints.

In Case of Trouble

If you suspecta problem with your unit, first recheckall your connections. If onechannelis inoperative,the trouble may be causedby anothercomponentor evena defectivehookup cable. If only onechannelremainsinoperative,try reversingthe Left andRight cablesto your preamplifier (turn it ofTbefore moving wires). If the samechannelstaysout, it indicatestrouble could be other thanyour D/A converteritself. We suggestyou contactyour authorizedParasounddealeror can ParasoundTechnicalServiceif you suspecta problem. We will suggestother diagnostictestsyou caneasilyperfonn andwhich will saveyou a lot of trouble.

I f we detenninethat your D/AC-1500 shouldbe returnedto Parasoundfor inspectionand possible servicing,you must first obtaina ReturnAuthorization numberfrom Parasound.You will be

asked to fe-pack the unit in its original carton and cardboard packing plus an additional outer box over its own box for proper protection in transit. The Return Authorization number must be clearly marked on the outer carton only. You should ship the unit by UPS with adequate insurance specified. You must include a copy of your purchase receipt to validate your ownership.

Units that arrive without your specific ReturnAuthorization number,without a suitableshipping cartonor evidenceof improperinternal packingor collect will be refused. We do not acceptcollect shipments. After repairunderwarmnty, the unit will be returnedto you via prepaidUPS or RPS. Ifwe found no problem with theunit, we will ship the unit by UPS or RPScollect for return shippingcharges. In the caseof an out of warranty repair, we will adviseyou repaircharges beforeyou ship the unit. The samepacking requirementsandRA requirementapply.
