Your Parasound P 3 Preamplifier requires no periodic maintenance and has no user-serviceable parts inside. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not remove the top cover. The P 3’s exterior can easily be cleaned with a soft cloth pre-moistened only with a few drops of water or glass cleaner.

Main Power Fuse

If this fuse blows, please contact Parasound Technical Service for further advice.

TROUBLE	PROBABLE CAUSE	REMEDY
No power	Power cord is disconnected	Connect power cord
	Voltage selector switch is in the	Make sure the Voltage selector switch is in the
	wrong position	correct position for your region
P 3 will not turn on with	AC fuse is blown	Replace fuse with one of the same value
DC trigger voltage	DC trigger source wired with reverse	Check polarity of the DC trigger source with
	polarity or voltage too low	a voltmeter
Power but no sound	Volume control turned down	Increase the volume control setting
	Bad connection to power amplifier	Check the output connections
	External Loop jumpers are missing	Replace External Loop jumpers
	P 3 is muted	Press Mute button or adjust the Volume knob
		or remote buttons to unmute the P 3
Distorted sound through	Damaged speaker	Exchange the left and right speaker cables.
