The auxiliary AF light of this camera conforms to the safety standard (IEC60825-1) for Class 1 LED product. Looking at the light directly will not create safety hazard. However, do not look into the emitter from a very short distance since you may feel dazzled.

The camera does not emit the auxiliary AF light under the following condition: the capture mode is set to C (Movie), H (Landscape) or x(Candlelight), or the focus mode is set to pan focus, infinity mode, or manual focus.

In the H(Landscape) and x(Candlelight) mode, however, you can let the camera emit the auxiliary AF light by setting [Aux. AF Light] to On.
