Poiché i difetti dei pixel e dei subpixel dello stesso tipo che si trovano vicini fra loro sono più evidenti, la Philips specifica pure gli elementi tollerabili per la prossimità dei difetti dei pixel.

Elementi tollerabili nei difetti dei pixel

Un pannello LCD TFT standard in un monitor Philips flat panel ha un numero di difetti nei pixel o nei subpixel inferiore a cinque; per essere suscettibile di riparazione o sostituzione a causa dei difetti nei pixel durante il periodo di garanzia un pannello deve presentare almeno cinque difetti di pixel o subpixel.

Poiché in alcuni modelli vengono utilizzati pannelli di tipo premium, ad esempio Philips 170X5 e 190X5, questi sono provvisti di garanzia Zero Bright Dot oppure Perfect Panel. La Zero Bright Dot garantisce la totale assenza di difetti di “punto luminoso”; i modelli Perfect Panel sono garantiti sia per quel che riguarda i difetti di punto luminoso che i difetti di “punto scuro”.
