Dos subpixeles adyacentes:

 

Un subpixel rojo, verde o azul

- Rojo + Azul = Púrpura

Tres subpixeles adyacentes

- Verde + Azul = Cyan (Celeste)

 

Un punto brillante rojo o azul debe ser como mínimo un 50 por ciento más intenso que los puntos colindantes, mientras que un punto brillante verde es un 30 por ciento más luminoso que los puntos contiguos.
