Use smart sound
Use smart sou nd to apply pre-define d sound
settings.
1 Press SOUND.
The »[Smart sound] menu appears.
2 Press to select one of the fol lowing
smart sound s ettings.
• [Standard]Adjusts sound set tings to
suit most envir onments and types of
audio.
• [News]Applies sound set tings ideally
suited for spoken au dio, such as the
news.
• [Movie]Applies sound setti ngs ideally
suited for movies.
• [Personal]Applies the settings that
were customised in t he sound menu.
3 Press OK to confirm your choice .
The selected smart sound setting is »
applied.
Adjust sound settings
1 Press (Home).
2 Press to select [Setup] > [Sound].
The »[Sound] menu appears.
3 Press to select one of the
following sound set tings.
• [Smart sound]Accesses pre-defined
smart sound s ettings.
• [Bass]Adjusts the bas s level.
• [Treble]Adjusts the treble level.
• [Volume]Adjusts the volume.
• [Balance]Adjusts the bal ance of the
right and left s peakers to best suit
your listening position.
• [Dual I-II]Selects between audio
languages if dual so und is broadcast.
• [Mono/Stereo]Selects between
mono or stereo if s tereo is
broadcast.
• [TV speakers]Turns T V speakers
on or off. Setti ng TV speakers
to automatic mode t urns off the
[Auto format](Not for
HDMI, YPbPr - E XT2/
EXT3 or PC mod e.)
Enlarges the pic ture
automatically t o best fit
the screen. Th e subtitles
remain visible.
[Super zoom](Not for HD
and PC mode.) Removes
the black bars on t he side
of 4:3 broadcast s. There is
minimal distortion.
[4:3]Shows the classic 4 :3
format.
[Subtitle zoom]Displays
4:3 pictures over t he full
area of the screen , with
sub-titles vi sible. Part of
the top of the pictu re is
clipped off.
[Movie exp.14:9](Not for
HD and PC mode.) Scal es
4:3 format to 14:9.
[Movie exp.16:9](Not for
HD and PC mode.) Scal es
4:3 format to 16:9.
[Wide screen]Stretches
the classic 4:3 form at to
16:9.
[Unscaled]Available in
selected mode ls with
PC resolution u nder
1024 x 768, only. Allows
maximum sharpness.
Some distortion may
be present due to th e
broadcaste r’s systems.
Set your PC resolu tion to
wide screen mode fo r best
results.
