Setup
Note
For some DVDs, the s ubtitle or audio lan guage can only be chan ged from the disc menu . •
For a language that is not listed, select • [Others]. Che ck the list of language cod es (see “Language Code”),
and then enter th e respective lan guage code. (Refer to “ Setup” > “General setup” > “Play a locked disc”
for how to enter the 4 -digit code)
[Parental Control] - Select a ratin g level to restrict th e play of discs to children. Th ese discs must be
recorded with r ating levels.
Note
To play a DVD disc that has a rat ing level higher than yo ur setting, ente r the password fir st. (Refer to •
“Setup” > “General setup” > “Play a locked disc” for d etails)
The rating leve ls are country-d ependent. To allow all di scs to be played, selec t
• [8 Adult].
Some discs have ra tings printed on b ut are not recorde d with ratings . This function h as no effect on suc h discs.

[PBC] - Enable or disable t he PBC (playback control) fe ature.
[Password] - Change the password for p laying discs that are locked or r estricted wit h rating levels.
Note
If you forget the pa ssword, enter “13690 0” before you set a new pa ssword. •
Change the password
1 Select [Preference] > [Password] > [Change], and then press OK.
The interface for changing password is displayed. »
2 Press OK again.
“0” is displayed behind »[Old Password] as the first digit of old password.
3 Press / to set a value (0-9) to the fir st digit.
4 Press .
5 Repeat steps 3 and 4 to e nter the 6-digit old p assword.
6 Repeat steps 3 and 4 to e nter the new password be hind [New Password].
7 Repeat steps 3 and 4 to e nter the new password be hind [Confirm PWD].
[DivX Subtitle] - Select a character se t that supports the s ubtitle of your DivX video.
[Version Info] - Display the information abou t software versio n of this player.
[Default] - Reset all settings to f actory default , except for the settings for [Disc Lock], [Parental
Control], and [Password].
