11Do not direct hot air at eyes or other heat- sensitive areas.

12Attachments may be hot during use. Let them cool down before handling them.

13Do not place the appliance on any surface while it is operating.

14While you use the appliance, keep your hair away from the air openings.

15Do not operate with a voltage converter.

16Do not use the appliance on artificial hair.

Operating instructions

-This appliance is intended for household use only. Use an Alternating Current (60 hertz) only. Standard dryers are designed to operate at 110 to 125V AC.

-This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug fits in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

-Use of this dryer on the same circuit or fuse with other electrical products or appliances may trip a 15 amp circuit breaker or blow a 15 amp fuse. NEVER replace the fuse with one rated higher than the capacity of the circuit. Doing so could result in an electrical fire.

-This appliance is equipped with an Appliance Leakage Circuit Interrupter (ALCI), a safety feature that renders it inoperable under some abnormal conditions, such as immersion in water.To make sure that the ALCI functions properly, perform the test described below.The purpose of this test is to allow you to make sure the water sensing system (ALCI) is working. REPEAT THIS

TEST EVERY TIMEYOU USE THE APPLIANCE TO CONFIRM THE ALCI IS OPERATIONAL (Fig. 1).

1Plug in the appliance and press the ‘test’ button on the plug.

,The appliance stops working.You hear a click and the reset button pops up.

2Unplug the appliance.

3Press the reset button and put the plug back into the outlet.

4If the ALCI does not function properly or if immersion occurs, do not try to reset. Call 1-800-243-7884 for assistance.

Note: If the appliance turns off and the reset button pops up during use, the appliance could be malfunctioning. Remove the plug from the outlet and let the appliance cool down.Then reinsert the plug into the outlet.The appliance should now function normally. If not, call 1-800-243-7884.

Overheat protection

If overheating occurs, an automatic safety device shuts off the hairdryer or the heat to prevent damage or personal injury. If the hairdryer or the heat shuts off, unplug the appliance and let it cool down for 10 to 15 minutes before you use the appliance again. Make sure the air grilles are clean.
