Hearing safety
Listen at a moderate volume.
Using headphones at a hi gh volume can impai r your hearing. Th is product
can produce sounds in de cibel ranges tha t may cause hearin g loss for a
normal person, ev en for exposure les s than a minute. Th e higher decibel
ranges are offered f or those that may have alr eady experie nced some
hearing loss.
Sound can be deceiving . Over time your hear ing ‘comfort level ’ adapts
to higher volumes of soun d. So after prolo nged listening , what sounds
‘normal’ can actu ally be loud and har mful to your heari ng. To guard
against this, set you r volume to a safe level b efore your hearin g adapts
and leave it there.
To establish a safe volume leve l:
Set your volume control a t a low setting.
Slowly increase the s ound until you can he ar it comforta bly and clearly,
without distortion.
Listen for reasonable periods of time:
Prolonged exposur e to sound, even at nor mally ‘safe’ level s, can also
cause hearing loss .
Be sure to use your equip ment reasonab ly and take appro priate break s.
