7 Troubleshooting
Warning
Risk of electric shock. Never re move the casin g of the player.
To keep the warranty valid, never try to repair the system yourself.
If you encounter problems when using the player, check the following points
before requesting service. If the problem remains unsolved, register your player
and get support at www.philips.com/welcome.
No power
Ensure that both plugs of t he mains cord are pr operly connect ed.
Ensure that there is p ower at the AC outlet .
Check if the built-in ba ttery is dra ined.
No sound
Ensure that the AV cable is con nected correc tly.
Distorted picture
Clean the disc. With a c lean, soft, lin t-free cloth, wip e the disc outwa rds
from the center.
Make sure that the vide o output forma t of the disc is compatib le with the
TV.
Change the video outp ut format to match yo ur TV or progra m.
The LCD is manufactur ed using high preci sion technolog y. You may,
however, see tiny black point s and/or bright poi nts(red, blue, gr een)
that continuously app ear on the LCD. This is a nor mal result of the
manufacturing pr ocess and does not in dicate a malfunc tion.
Cannot play disc
Ensure the disc label i s upwards.
Clean the disc. With a c lean, soft, lin t-free cloth, wip e the disc outwa rds
from the center.
Check if the disc is defec tive by trying a nother disc.
No response to the remote control
Ensure that the path be tween the remot e control and the playe r is clear
from obstacles.
From a close distance, p oint the remote cont rol directly a t the player.
Replace the remote cont rol batteries .
The function does no t work for this disc. R efer to the disc inst ructions.
The player feels warm
When the player is in use for a l ong period of time , its surface wi ll be
heated. This is norm al.
