7 Troubleshooting
Warning
Risk of electric shock. Neve r remove the ca sing of the player.
To keep the warranty valid, never try to repair the system yourself.
If you encounter problems when using the player, check the following points
before requesting service. If the problem remains unsolved, register your player
and get support at www.philips.com/welcome.
No power
Ensure that both plugs of the mains cord a re properly conn ected.
Ensure that there is power at the AC out let.
Check if the built-in battery is d rained.
No sound
Ensure that the AV cable is connected co rrectly.
Distorted picture
Clean the disc. With a clean, sof t, lint-free cloth , wipe the disc out wards
from the center.
Make sure that the video output for mat of the disc is com patible with th e TV.
Change the video output format to m atch your TV or pro gram.
The LCD is manufactured using high p recision techno logy. You may,
however, see tiny black poi nts and/or brigh t points(red, blue , green)
that continuousl y appear on the LCD. Thi s is a normal resul t of the
manufactur ing process and doe s not indicate a malfu nction.
Cannot play disc
Ensure the disc label is upwards.
Clean the disc. With a clean, sof t, lint-free cloth , wipe the disc out wards
from the center.
Check if the disc is defective by try ing another disc .
No response to the remote control
Ensure that the path between the r emote control and t he player is clear
from obstacles.
From a close distance, point the rem ote control direc tly at the player.
Replace the remote control batter ies.
The function does not work for this d isc. Refer to the disc i nstructio ns.
The player feels warm
When the player is in use for a long peri od of time, its sur face will be
heated. This is no rmal.
