9 Component/Tuner controls

The main buttons (3, 7, etc.) are used to control a component after you have selected it using the MULTI CONTROL buttons. The tuner/ DTV controls above these buttons can be accessed after you have selected the corre- sponding MULTI CONTROL button (TUNER or TV/SAT (when connected to DTV)).

RETURN

Returns to the last screen selected when using a digital TV tuner.

BAND DTV ON/OFF

Use to switch between the AM and FM bands when the tuner is selected. Also switches a digital TV on/off.

DTV INFO

You can access the DTV information with this button.

DISPLAY (page 43)

Use to switch the display between the station preset name and the frequency.

CLASS (pages 42–43)

Use to switch between the three banks (classes) of station presets.

MPX (page 41)

Use to switch between auto stereo and mono reception of FM broadcasts. If the signal is weak then switching to mono will improve the sound quality.

D. ACCESS (page 41)

After pressing, you can access a radio station directly using the number buttons.

Use to enter track numbers on discs or radio frequencies.

11 CHANNEL +/– buttons

Use to select channels on other components such as a DVR or satellite tuner.

12 INPUT SELECT

Use to select the input source.

13 LED indicator

This indicator flashes when a command is sent from the remote control to the receiver. It also flashes when teaching the receiver preset codes.

14 SOURCE

Use this button to turn on or off the power of other components.

15MIDNIGHT/LOUDNESS (page 32) Use to switch to Midnight or Loudness listening.

16FL DIMMER

Use this button to make the fluorescent display (FL) dimmer or brighter.

17MENU

Use to access different menus associated with your DVD player.

INPUT ATT

Use to attenuate (lower) the level of an analog input signal to prevent distortion.

T. EDIT (pages 42–43)

Press to memorize and name a station for recall using the STATION (+/–)buttons.

Use the arrow buttons when setting up your surround sound system (see page 35). Also used to control DVD menus/options and for deck 1 of a double cassette deck player. Use the TUNE +/– buttons to find radio frequencies and use ST +/– to find preset stations (page 40–43).
