COMMENT OBTENIR DE L’ÉLECTRICITÉ DE LA GÉNÉRATRICE

Il y a deux façons d’obtenir de l’électricité de la génératrice:

1.Utiliser des rallonges branchées directement de la génératrice aux appareils, lampes, outils etc.

2.Utiliser un inverseur bidirectionnel installé directement à la source de distribution électrique principale à l’extérieur de la maison.

RALLONGES

Afin de réduire le risque de chocs électriques en utilisant un appareil ou un outil considérablement éloigné de la génératrice, il FAUT se servir d’une rallonge à trois fils, dotée d’une fiche de mise à la terre à trois broches, et d’une prise à trois fentes qui s’adapte à la fiche de l’outil. Il faut également utiliser une rallonge de dimension appropriée. Le tableau suivant sert à déterminer la dimension de fil minimum requise.

*REMARQUE : Lorsque l’ampérage est supérieur à 20 A, il ne faut pas utiliser une rallonge de calibre 12 pour des distances d’une longueur importante.

MISE EN GARDE Si une rallonge est chaude, elle est trop chargée. Réparer ou remplacer immédiatement toute rallonge endommagée.

INVERSEUR BIDIRECTIONNEL

Des dangers potentiels se présentent lorsqu’une génératrice électrique est branchée à la source de distribution électrique principale entrant dans une maison. À ce point la génératrice peut retourner un courant

vers le système d’alimentation électrique public et risque d’envoyer des chocs électriques aux techniciens en train de réparer les lignes d’alimentation électrique.

Pour éviter le retour de courant dans le système de service public, un inverseur bidirectionnel doit être installé entre la génératrice et le système de service public. Ce dispositif devrait être installé par un électricien autorisé, conformément à tous les codes provinciaux et locaux de l’électricité. (Des fils de calibre 10, au minimum, doivent être utilisés pour l’installation d’un inverseur bidirectionnel.)

Un électricien devrait également installer un panneau auxiliaire pour isoler les circuits que vous voulez utiliser en cas d’urgence ou lors d’une panne d’électricité. Votre génératrice n’est pas assez puissante pour alimenter à la fois tous les appareils d’éclairage, les appareils ménagers, le téléviseur etc. Pour choisir quels appareils devraient être alimentés lors d’une panne d’électricité, consulter la section intitulée “Calcul de la puissance en watts”.
