SAlways use an overcut to cut small and
freely hanging limbs. Undercutting c ould
cause limbs to fall and pinch the saw.

PRUNING

WARNING: Limit pruning to limbs
shoulder height or below. Do not cut if
branchesar e higher than your shoulder. Get
apr ofessional to do the job.
SMakeyour fist cut 1/3 of the way through
the bottom of the limb.
SNextmake a 2nd cut all the way through
thelimb. Then cut a third overc ut leaving
a1 to 2 inch collar from the truckof the tree.

AIR FILTER

CAUTION:Donot clean filter in gasoline
orother flammable s olvent to avoid creating
af ire hazard or producing harmful evapora-
tive emissions.

Cleaning the air filter:

A dirty air filter decreases engine perform-
ance and increases fuel consumption and
harmful emissions. Always clean after 15
tanks of fuel or 5 hours of operation, which-
ever comes first. Cleanmore fr equently in
dustyconditions . Aused aire filter can never
becompletely cleaned. Itis advisable tore-
placeyour air filter with a new one after every
50hours of operation, or annually, whichever
comesfirst.
1. Loosen3 screws on c ylinder cover.
2. Removecylinder cov er.
3. Removeair filter.
4. Cleanthe air filter using hot soapy water.
Rinsewith c lean cool water. Airdry com-
pletely before reinstalling.
5. Reinstallair filter.
6. Reinstall cylinder cover and 3 screws.

INSPECT MUFFLER AND SPARK

ARRESTING SCREEN

Asthe unit isused, c arbon deposits build up
on the muffler and spark arresting screen,
andmust be removed to avoid cr eating afire
hazard or affecting engine performance.
Replacethe spark arrestingscreen ifbreaks
occur.
