STORAGE
WARNING: Perform the following
steps after each use:
SAllowengine to cool before storing or trans-
porting.
SStoreunit and fuel in a wel l ventilated area
where fuel vapors cannot reach sparks or
open flames from water heaters, electric
motors or switches, furnaces, etc.
SStoreunit with al l guards in place. Position
unit so that any sharp object cannot acci-
dentally cause injury.
SStore unit and fuel well out of the reach of
children.

SEASONALSTORAGE

Prepareunit for storage at end of season or if
itwill notbe used for 30days or more.
Ifyour unit is to be stored for a period of ti me:
SClean the entire unit before lengthy
storage.
SStorein a clean dr y area.
SLightly oil external metal surfaces.

FUELSYSTEM

Under FUELING ENGINE in the OPERA-
TIONsection of this manual, see message la-
beledIMPORTANT regardi ng the use of ga-
sohol in your engine.
Fuelstabilizer is an acceptable alternative in
minimizing the formation of fuel gum deposits
duringstorage. Add stabilizer to the gasoline
inthe fuel tank or fuel storage contai ner.Fol-
low the mix instructions found on stabilizer
container.Run engine at least 5 m inutes after
addingstabilizer.
HELPFUL TIP
Duringstorage of your gas/
oilmixture, theoil will sepa-
ratefrom the gas.
We recommend that you
shake the gas can weekly
toinsure proper blending of
thegas and oil.

ENGINE

SRemovespark plug and pour 1 teaspoon of
40:1,2-cycle engine oil (air cooled) through
the spark plug opening. Slowly pull the
starter rope 8 to 10 times to distribute oil.
SReplacespark plug w ith new one of recom-
mendedtype and heat range.
SClean air filter.
SCheck entire unit for loose scr ews, nuts,
and bolts. Replace any damaged, broken,
or worn parts.
SAt the beginning of the next season, use
onlyfresh fuel having the proper gasoline to
oil ratio.
