IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
1.Read all instructions.
2.Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3.To protect against electrical shock do not immerse cord, plug, or toaster oven in water or other liquid.
4.Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
5.Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before cleaning appliance and putting on or taking off parts.

15.Oversize foods or metal utensils must not be inserted in a toaster oven as they may create a fire or risk of electric shock.
16.A fire may occur if the toaster oven is covered, touching, or near flammable material, including curtains, draperies, walls, and the like, when in operation. Do not store any item on top of the appliance when in operation, or before the appliance cools down.
17.Extreme caution should be exercised when using containers constructed of materials other than metal or glass.
18.Do not store any materials, other than manufacturer- recommended accessories, in this oven when not in use.
19.Do not place any of the following materials in the oven: paper, cardboard, plastic, and the like.
20.Do not cover crumb tray or any part of the oven with metal foil. This will cause overheating of the oven.
21.To turn oven off, turn ON/OFF Control Knob to OFF (O) position. See “Parts and features” section.
22.Do not place eyes or face in close proximity with tempered safety glass door, in the event that the safety glass breaks.
23.Always use appliance with crumb tray securely in place.
24.Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
25.Clean oven interior carefully. Do not scratch or damage heating element tube.

This appliance is intended for household use only.
WARNING! Shock Hazard: This appliance has a polarized plug (one wide blade) that reduces the risk of electric shock. The plug fits only one way into a polarized outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the plug by modifying the plug in any way or by using an adapter. If the plug does not fit, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, have an electrician replace the outlet.
The length of the cord used on this appliance was selected to reduce the hazards of becoming tangled in or tripping over a longer cord. If a longer cord is necessary, an approved extension cord may be used. The electrical rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater than the rating of the appliance. Care must be taken to arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or accidentally tripped over.
This appliance is equipped with a fully tempered safety glass door. The tempered glass is four times stronger than ordinary glass and more resistant to breakage. Tempered glass can break; however, it breaks into pieces with no sharp edges. Care must be taken to avoid scratching door surface or nicking edges. Always unplug your toaster oven from the outlet when not in use.
Before first use:
Most heating appliances produce an odor and/or smoke when used for the first time. Plug the toaster oven into an outlet. Turn the Function/Temp Knob to 450°F (230ºC). Heat at this temperature for 10 minutes. The odor should not be present after this initial preheating. Wash baking pan and oven/broil rack before using.

How to toast
wWARNING Fire Hazard.
Do not leave oven unattended during toasting.
IMPORTANT: Function/Temp Knob must be in TOAST position or unit may not toast properly.
1.Place bread on oven/broil rack in the UP position (u-shaped rather than n-shaped).
2.Set Function/Temp Knob to TOAST.
3.Rotate Toast Shade Selector/Timer Knob past 5 and then back to desired toast color.
4.The bell will sound at the end of Toast cycle.
NOTE: To stop during a toasting cycle, turn Toast Shade Selector/Timer Knob to OFF.
Toasting tips:
•WHEN MAKING MORE THAN ONE BATCH OF TOAST, THE TOAST SHADE SELECTOR SHOULD BE SET TO A LIGHTER COLOR ON THE SECOND BATCH TO GET THE SAME SHADE AS THE FIRST.
•For even browning, place bread in center of oven/broil rack.
•To toast regular toaster pastry, frozen pastry, or waffles, select a light color and toast directly on oven/broil rack. If pastry has a glaze or frosting, use baking pan.
•The number of slices of bread, bread freshness, and starting temperature of oven will affect toast color. Adjust Toast Shade Selector to achieve desired color.
How to bake
wWARNING Fire Hazard.
•Keep one inch between food and heating element.
•Do not use oven cooking bags.
•Do not heat foods in plastic containers.
•Follow food manufacturers’ instructions.
IMPORTANT: Preheat the oven before baking.
Baking food in the center of the oven will yield best results.
1.Set Function/Temp Knob to desired baking temperature. Rotate Timer Knob past 5 and then back to 5 to preheat oven for 5 minutes before beginning to bake.
2.After oven is preheated, place food on baking pan and slide directly into appropriate rack slot. Set Timer to desired time by rotating it past 5 and then to desired baking time or ON. The indicator light will come on and oven will begin baking.
3.When finished, turn OFF (O). Unplug from outlet.
Baking tips:
•Most foods should be baked according to package or recipe directions. Watch carefully and adjust time or temperature if necessary.
•For baked potatoes, bake at 425ºF (220ºC) for 1 hour or until done.
How to broil
wWARNING Fire Hazard.
•Keep one inch between food and heating element.
•Do not use oven cooking bags.
•Do not heat foods in plastic containers.
•Follow food manufacturers’ instructions.
1.Place oven/broil rack in the DOWN position (n-shaped rather than
u-shaped) over the baking pan. Load with food and slide them together into the appropriate rack slot.
2.Set Function/Temp Knob to BROIL.
3.Set Timer to desired time by rotating it past 5 and then to desired broiling time or ON. The indicator light will come on. Only top heating element will come on during the broil function.
4.Halfway through cooking time, or when food has browned, turn food over to brown and cook other side.
5.When finished, turn OFF (O). Unplug from outlet.
Broiling tips:
•For best results, do not preheat when broiling.
•Always allow at least 1 inch between food and heating element.
•Single-serving meats are broiled to doneness in approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
NOTE: Test foods for safe internal cooking temperature using a meat thermometer. Visit foodsafety.gov for more information on safe internal cooking temperatures.
Cleaning the oven
wWARNING Electrical Shock Hazard.
•Failure to clean the oven interior regularly may result in fire hazard.
•Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off pad and touch electrical parts, causing a risk of electric shock.
For best performance and long life, clean toaster oven regularly.
1.Unplug oven and allow to cool.
2.Wash oven/broil rack and baking pan in hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry. Do not use abrasive cleansers or steel wool.
3.To clean the inside of the oven, wipe oven walls, bottom of oven, and glass door with a damp, soapy cloth. Repeat with a damp, clean cloth. For stubborn stains, use a plastic scouring pad.
4.To clean outside of oven, wipe with damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleansers.
To clean crumb tray:
1.Remove baking pan and
oven/broil rack from oven.
2. Tilt oven back. Push handle down to unlock crumb tray. Pull tray down and out.
3. Gently shake crumbs out of tray and wipe with a damp, clean cloth. NOTE: Crumb tray is not removable.
Troubleshooting
The toaster oven will not heat.
•Make sure electrical outlet is working and oven is plugged in.
•Set Function/Temperature Knob to 350°F (175ºC).
•Turn ON/OFF Knob to ON.
•The indicator light should now be lit.
The toaster oven will not toast.
•Make sure electrical outlet is working and oven is plugged in.
•Set Function/Temperature Knob to TOAST.
•Select toast color.
•The indicator light should now be lit. The oven will not toast properly unless the ON/OFF Knob is set to TOAST.
Limited warranty
This warranty applies to products purchased in the U.S. and Canada. This is the only express warranty for this product and is in lieu of any other warranty or condition.
This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase. During this period, your exclusive remedy is repair or replacement of this product or any component found to be defective, at our option; however, you are responsible for all costs associated with returning the product to us and our returning a product or component under this warranty to you. If the product or component is no longer available, we will replace with a similar one of equal or greater value.
This warranty does not cover glass, filters, wear from normal use, use not in conformity with the printed directions, or damage to the product resulting from accident, alteration, abuse, or misuse. This warranty extends only to the original consumer purchaser or gift recipient. Keep the original sales receipt, as proof of purchase is required to make a warranty claim. This warranty is void if the product is used for other than single-family household use.

AVERTISSEMENT! Danger d’électrocution : Cet appareil électoménager possède une fiche polarisée (une broche large) qui réduit le danger d’électrocution. Cette fiche n’entre que dans un seul sens dans une prise polarisée. Ne contrecarrez pas l’objectif sécuritaire de cette fiche en la modifiant de quelque manière que ce soit ou en utilisant un adaptateur. Si la fiche n’entre pas bien, retournez-la. Si elle continue à ne pas bien entrer, demandez à un électricien de remplacer la prise.
La longueur du cordon de cet appareil a été choisie de façon
àce que l’on ne risque pas de trébucher dessus. Si un cordon plus long est nécessaire, utiliser une rallonge appropriée. Le calibrage de la rallonge doit être le même que celui du grille- pain ou supérieur. Lorsqu’on utilise une rallonge, s’assurer qu’elle ne traverse pas la zone de travail, que des enfants ne puissent pas tirer dessus par inadvertance et qu’on ne puisse pas trébucher dessus.
Cet appareil est doté d’une porte en verre renforcé de sécurité. Le verre renforcé est quatre fois plus fort que le verre ordinaire et plus résistant aux bris. Le verre renforcé peut se briser, mais il se brise en pièces sans bords coupants. Il faut prendre soin d’éviter d’égratigner la surface de la porte ou d’endommager le contour. Si la porte a une égratignure ou un bris, composer notre numéro sans frais d’interurbain d’assistance à la clientèle.
Toujours débrancher votre four grille-pain de la prise de courant lorsqu’il n’est pas utilisé.
Avant la première utilisation
La plupart des appareils ménagers qui chauffent produisent une odeur et/ou une fumée lors de l’utilisation pour la première fois. Brancher le four grille-pain dans une prise de courant. Tourner le bouton de commande de fonction/ température à 230 °C (450 °F). Chauffer à cette température pendant 10 minutes. L’odeur ne devrait pas survenir après ce préchauffage initial. Nettoyer le plat de cuisson et la grille du four/gril avant l’utilisation.

Pour faire griller
wAVERTISSEMENT Danger d’incendie.
Ne laissez jamais sans surveillance quand vous grillez.
IMPORTANT : Le bouton Fonction/température doit être positionné à « TOAST » sinon le brunissage ne s’effectuera pas correctement.
1.Placer le pain sur la grille de four/gril à l’endroit (forme en U plutôt qu’en N).
2.Régler le bouton Fonction/température à « TOAST » (pain grillé).
3.Régler le bouton sélecteur de degré de brunissage au-delà de 5 puis revenir en arrière jusqu’au degré de brunissage désiré.
4.La sonnerie se fera entendre à la fin du programme. NOTE : Pour interrompre le programme, tourner le bouton sélecteur de degré de brunissage à « OFF » (arrêt).
Conseils pour griller les aliments :
•LORSQUE L’ON FAIT GRILLER PLUS D’UN LOT DE RÔTIES, LE SÉLECTEUR DE DEGRÉ DE BRUNISSAGE DEVRAIT ÊTRE RÉGLÉ À UNE NUANCE PLUS CLAIRE POUR LE DEUXIÈME LOT AFIN D’OBTENIR LA MÊME NUANCE QUE POUR LE PREMIER LOT.
•Placer le pain au centre de la grille du four/gril pour un brunissage uniforme.
•Pour faire griller des pâtisseries ordinaires, congelées ou des gaufres, sélectionner un degré de brunissage léger et faire griller directement sur la grille du four/gril. Pour une pâtisserie avec glaçage, utiliser le plat à cuisson.
•Le nombre de tranches de pain, la fraîcheur du pain et la température de départ du four affecteront le degré de brunissage. Régler le sélecteur de degré de brunissage pour atteindre la nuance désirée.
