BATTERY INSTALLATION

This game is powered by four (4) A A (LR6) batteri es.
• Using a screwdriver, loosen the sc rew until the battery compa rtment door
can be removed.
• Insert four (4) A A (LR6) batterie s (we recommend alkalin e) as indicated
inside the battery compar tment.
• Replace the battery c ompartment door and ti ghten the screw with a
screwdriver. Do not over-tighten.
ADULT SUPERVISION IS RECOMM ENDED WHEN CHANG ING
BATTERIES.

TV CONNECTION

NOTE: To connect Super Sonic Gol d directly to a TV, the TV must be
equipped with audio and video i nput jacks or a Scart input . They are com-
monly found on the front of the TV ne ar the contrast, colour, and pict ure
adjustment controls or on the re ar of the TV near the antenna an d cable/
satellite jacks.
If your TV does not have audio and vide o input jacks, you may connect
Super Sonic Gold through a VCR con nected to your TV.

CONNECTING TO A VCR

To connect Super Sonic Gold to your VCR, ins ert the yellow video plug fro m
the Main Unit into the video in (yellow ) jack on your VCR, the white audio
plug into the left audio in (white ) jack or via the Scart adap tor. Then set the
VCR to the appropriate video input mo de (see your VCR’s operating man ual
for details).

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 1

The Legend
In the battle for the 16-bit generat ion, Sega needed a charac ter that could
take on a certain Italian plum ber that had reigned supre me during the
previous generation. They foun d their mascot in a little blu e speed machine
named Sonic the Hedgehog. Re lease in 1991, Sonic the Hedgehog was
the best selling game of the year and wa s the defining game on the Sega
Genesis.
Dr. Robotnik (Known as Dr. Eggman in Japan, h ence his rotund appear-
ance), has been transfo rming all the cute, fuzzy ani mals into robots and it
is up to Sonic the Hedgehog to free the m. Running stage to stage, he mus t
free the animals and stop Dr. Robotnik’s mad s chemes.

Basic Controls

Directional Pad (D-Pad )
• Left or Right – Move Sonic the He dgehog left or right
• Down – Duck; perform s Sonic Spin Attack while movin g

Button A, B, or C

• Jump while spinning (destroy s enemies)

Rings

Along the way, Sonic will uncover secrets an d surprises, as well as Ring s,
which keep him alive. As long as Sonic h as at least one Ring, he will only
lose his rings when hit. If Sonic ha s no rings, being hit will caus e the player
to lose a life.

Lampposts

Every Zone has Lampposts pla ced at specific points. By touc hing the
Lamppost, your current sco re and time are recorded. If you d ie, you will
continue your game at the lamppos t instead of at the start of the level .

Thanks to the original Sonic, the Ge nesis became the bigge st selling con-
sole throughout the world. Soni c 2 launched with a heightened a nticipation
and expectation, and it didn’t let th e Blue Hedgehog’s army of fans down
quickly becoming one of the top- selling games of all time. Its’ wor ldwide
appeal and availability ens ured that almost everyone wh o had a Genesis
played Sonic 2.

The Game

Dr Robotnik is at it again, turning a ll the animals in the forest into r obots,
enabling him to build his doomsday m achine! He’s grabbed cont rol of
everything except the 7 Chaos Eme ralds. These magnifice nt gems are
believed to hold exceptional powers a nd if he gets his hands on them, he
could have the entire world in his gras p.
It’s all down to one spiky haired dude an d his protégé Miles “Tails” Prower
to find the emeralds, free the anim als and squash Robotnik for ever.

The Controls

D-Button: Moves Sonic or “Tails” lef t and right. Hold the butto n LEFT or
RIGHT to speed up. Press DOWN to spin whi le moving.
Button A, B or C: Makes Sonic or “ Tails” perform a spin-jump.

Super Spin Attack

Press the D-Button DOWN while m oving to spin like wildfire and bump of f
enemies.
Press Button A, B or C to jump while sp inning and knock of badniks fr om
below or jump on them from above.

Super Dash Attack

Hold Still, press the D-But ton DOWN and press A,B or C but ton to rev up
like a turbo engine.

Getting Starte d

Press start at the Title Scre en. (Note 2 player VS mode is not op erational)
To play as “Tails” go to the options screen and selec t “Sonic and Tails”,
then press Start.

SONIC SPINBALL

The Game

In this action packed pinball gam e the evil scientist Dr. Robotnik has
unleashed his most diabolic al plot yet to turn the animals of Plan et Mobius
into robots. His monstrous contr aption, the Veg-O-For tress, built on Mt.
Mobius, is already transfor ming happy creatures into mind less slaves! Yo,
Robotnik! You’re in for a mountain of trouble n ow. Sonic is spinning into
action!

The Controls

D-Button: Moves Sonic lef t and right, up makes Sonic loo k up and down
makes Sonic duck.

Super Spin Dash

Hold still, press D-Button d own, press Button A, B or C to sta rt spinning
like a turbo engine. Release the D -Pad to dash away like a road rocket!

Cliffhanger Flip

Sonic will automatically grab le dges and flip up onto a safe surf ace to pre-
vent fatal falls or avoid the jaws of Robotni k’s monsters.

Tilt

Button A: Tilt Left Flipper
Button B: Tilt Right Flipper
Button C: Tilt Both Flippers

Tilt Shake (Bonus Ro unds)

Press Button A, B and C together to r attle the table and control t he ball.
Don’t shake it too much or the machine wil l shut down and you’ll lose a ball!

The Chaos Emeralds

Chaos Emeralds stabilize the Mt . Mobius volcano on which the Veg- O-
Fortress stands. Without t he emeralds, a massive er uption would blow the
Fortress to pieces!
