Your telephone has built-in protection circuits to re- duce the risk of damage from surges in phone line or power line current. These protection circuits meet or exceed FCC requirements. However, lightning strik- ing the phone line can damage your telephone.

Lightning damage is not common. However, if you live in and area that has severe electrical storms, we suggest that you unplug your system during storms to reduce the possibility of damage.
