BATTERIES

Your TV uses three AA batteries (not sup-
plied). For the best results, we recommend
alkaline batteries (R adio Shack Cat. No. 2 3-
552).
1. Slide off the battery compartm ent’s
cover in the direction of the arrows.
2. Insert three fresh batteries as indicated
by the polarity symbols ( + and –)
marked inside.
Caution: Installing batteries incorrectl y
can damage the TV.
3. Replace the cover.
Notes:
The TV can operate for about 2 hours
with alkaline batteries. When the sound
level lowers or the picture becom es
unstable, replace the b atteries.
Internal batteries automatically discon-
nect when you plug an adapte r int o the
DC IN 6V jack.

AC POWER

You can power the TV from a standard AC
outlet.
You must use an optional AC adapter that
supplies 6 volts and delive rs at least 550
mA. Its center tip must be set to negati ve,
and its plug must correctly fit the TV’s DC IN
6V jack. (We recommend Radio Shack Cat.
No. 273-1664.) Using an ada pte r th at d oes
not meet these specificat ions could serious-
ly damage the TV or th e adapte r. Set the
adapter’s voltage swi tch to 6V.
Plug the adapter’s barrel plug into the TV’s
DC IN 6V jack. Then plug the othe r end of the
adapter into a standar d AC outlet.
Notes:
Do not leave the adapter plugged into
the AC outlet or connected to the TV
when you are not usin g the TV.
Always unplug the adapter from the AC
outlet first.
The adapter might become warm after
extended periods of us e.

VEHICLE BATTERY POWER

You can use an optinal DC ad apter to power
the TV from your vehicle’s cigarette-lighter
socket if your vehicle has a 12-v olt DC, neg-
ative-ground electrical system.
You must use a DC adap ter that supplies 6
volts and delivers at least 550 mA . Its ce nter
tip must be set to negati ve, an d its pl ug m ust
correctly fit the TV’s DC IN 6V jack. (We rec-
ommend Radio Shack C at. No. 273-1 801.)
Using an adapter that does not meet these
specifications could seriously damage the
TV or the adapter. Set the adapter’s voltage
switch to 6V.
1. Plug the adapter’s barr el plug into t he
TV’s
DC IN 6V jack.
2. Unplug your vehicle’s ciga rette lighter
and plug the large end of the DC
adapter cord into the cigarette li ghter
socket.
Notes:
If the TV does not operate properly
when you use DC po wer, be sure t he
cigarette-lighter socket is clean and that
the adapter’s plug is pushed all the way
into the socket.
Do not leave the adapte r plugged in to
the cigarette-lighter socket or con-
nected to the TV when you are not
using the TV.
Always unplug the adapter from the cig-
arette-lighter socket first.

CONNECTING AN EXTERNAL

ANTENNA

If you are in an area w ith w eak TV sign als ,
or are inside a metal or con crete buil ding,
you might need an external ou tdoor antenna
to improve reception. Connect the antenna
to the EXT ANT jack.
If your antenna wire is 75 -ohm co axial cabl e,
use an F-to-mini plug adapter to complete
the connections. We recommend Radio
Shack Cat. No. 278-257. If you have 300-
ohm wire, use a 300-to-75-oh m mini plug
adapter. We recommend Cat. No. 15-1148.
