The Alcatel-Lucent 1300 Convergent Network Management Center (CMC) provides cost-effective integrated network management for next generation networks (NGNs), fixed IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) networks, public switched telephone networks (PSTNs), signaling networks - and any combination of these. It provides an easy upgrade from PSTN to NGN/IMS. At the same time, the Alcatel-Lucent 1300 CMC significantly reduces operating expenditures (OPEX), especially when compared with the cost of using separate management systems for the PSTN and NGN. This product can also exploit the NGN’s capability of delivering new revenue-generating services. It’s a complete value proposition because it also enables the evolution to fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) that is possible with IMS. Converged IMS-based networks are managed by the Alcatel-Lucent 1300 Cross Domain Management Center (XMC), an evolution of the Alcatel-Lucent 1300 CMC, and the Alcatel-Lucent 1300 Operations and Maintenance Center (OMC), which manages mobile networks.
