Read the instructions, keep them safe, pass them on if you pass the kettle on. Remove all packaging, but keep it in case you ever need to return the kettle.
important safeguards
Follow basic safety precautions, including:
1The kettle must only be used by or under the supervision of a responsible adult. Use and store the kettle out of reach of children.
2Don’t put the kettle, stand, cable, or plug in liquid. Don’t use the kettle in a bathroom, near water, or outdoors.
3The scald hazard lasts long after boiling. Keep the kettle, stand, and cable away from the edges of worktops and out of reach of children.
4Route the cable so it doesn’t overhang, and can’t be tripped over or caught.
5Don’t use the kettle without the filter in place – it may spit boiling water.
6Don’t touch hot surfaces. Use the handle, lid button, and lid release button.
7Don’t open the lid while the water is heating.
8Take care when pouring – pour slowly, and don’t
9Don’t switch on unless the kettle contains at least 2 cups of water.
10Don’t fill past max, or it may spit boiling water.
11Remove the kettle from its stand before filling or pouring.
12Unplug the stand when not in use, before moving and before cleaning. Let the kettle cool down before cleaning and storing away.
13Check the lid is fully closed before switching the kettle on, or it may not switch off.
14Keep the kettle, stand, cable, and plug away from sources of heat.
15Don’t use the kettle for any purpose other than heating water.
16Use the kettle only with the stand supplied (and vice versa).
17This appliance must not be operated by an external timer or remote control system.
18Don’t use the kettle if it’s damaged or malfunctions.
19If the cable is damaged, return the kettle, to avoid hazard.
20 This product is designed for private domestic use only. It is not suitable for commercial or institutional use.
before using for the first time
•Fill to max, boil, discard the water, then rinse. Do this 3 times, to remove manufacturing residues, dust, etc.
positioning
1 Put the stand on a stable, level surface.
2 Route the cable so it doesn’t overhang, and can’t be caught or tripped over.
filling
caution keep clear, steam may escape from the lid aperture
3Remove the kettle from the stand.
4Press the lid release button – the lid will spring open.
5Fill with at least 2 cups of water, but not above max.
6If you overfill, the kettle may spit boiling water.
7The lid button is cooler than the rest of the lid – use it to close the lid.
8 Check the lid is closed, or the kettle won’t switch off when it boils.
