MAINTENANCE
DRIVE BELT
See Figures 20 and 21.
WARNING:
To prevent accidental starting that could cause possible serious personal injury, turn off the saw, remove the switch key, and unplug the saw before working on the band saw.
Due to wear or breakage, the drive belt may need to be replaced. The drive belt is located behind the lower wheel of the band saw.
■Remove the saw blade and set it aside. See section on Installing and Adjusting the Blade, page 12.
■Remove the nut and washer from the middle of the saw housing. See Figure 20.
■Pull the lower wheel away from the saw housing.
■Remove the worn drive belt.
■Place new drive belt on the pulley. As you slide the pulley shaft back into the hole in the saw housing, place the drive belt over the motor pulley.
■Replace the nut and washer on the pulley shaft and retighten.
■Replace saw blade.
■Check thrust bearings and blade guides.
LUBRICATION
All the bearings in this tool are lubricated with a sufficient amount of high grade lubricant for the life of the unit under normal operating conditions. Therefore no further lubrication is required.
