OPERATION

WARNING:

Do not allow familiarity with this product to make you careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is sufficient to inflict serious injury.

WARNING:

Always wear eye protection with side shields marked to comply with ANSI Z87.1, along with hearing protection. Failure to do so could result in objects being thrown into your eyes and other possible serious injuries.

WARNING:

Never remove discharge outlet elbow. Removal of elbow could result in contact with moving fan blades and cause serious personal injuries.

APPLICATIONS

You may use this product for the purposes listed below:

Clearing leaves and other debris from your lawn

Keeping decks and driveways free from leaves and pine needles

Vacuuming leaves from your lawn

SWITCHING BETWEEN BLOWER MODE AND VACUUM MODE

See Figure 6.

WARNING:

Always ensure that your unit is switched off and has fully stopped before changing the mode of operation. Do not force the quick change lever. It should move smoothly without resistance. If you encounter problems, discon- nect from power supply and clean the lever mechanism.

For blower mode:

Switch the quick change lever DOWN so it points to the blow symbol (APPLICATIONSSWITCHING BETWEEN BLOWER MODE AND VACUUM MODEFor blower mode:For vacuum mode:STARTING AND STOPPINGTo start the blower/vac:To stop the blower/vac:OPERATING THE BLOWERManual background ).

For vacuum mode:

STARTING AND STOPPING

See Figure 7.

NOTE: For added safety, your blower/vac has double safety switching. If the blower/vacuum tube is not properly con- nected to the motor housing or the tubes are not fully ex- tended and have not locked in place, the blower/vac will not start. Check the troubleshooting guide later in this manual for more information.

To start the blower/vac:

Attach the outlet end of an extension cord to the plug on the cord at the rear of blower vac.

NOTE:  Use only an approved outdoor extension cord as described previously in this manual.

Route the extension cord through the side of the loop located on the rear of the blower housing and place underneath the cord retainer.

CAUTION:

Always secure extension cord to unit by using cord re- tainer. Failure to use cord retainer may result in damage to the unit and/or extension cord.

Connect the blower/vac to the power supply. The live tool indicator will glow blue once the blower/vac is connected to the electric power supply.

Pull the trigger to start the blower/vac.

To stop the blower/vac:

Release the trigger.

VARIABLE SPEED CONTROL

See Figure 8.

You can adjust the speed of the unit by turning the variable speed control clockwise to increase speed or counterclockwise to decrease speed.

Manual background WARNING:

Never run the unit without the vacuum tube and vacuum bag installed. Use of an improperly assembled unit could result in serious personal injury.

OPERATING THE BLOWER

See Figure 9.

nTo keep from scattering debris, blow around the outer edges of a debris pile. Never blow directly into the center of a pile.

nTo reduce sound levels, limit the number of pieces of equipment used at any one time.

nUse rakes and brooms to loosen debris before blowing. In dusty conditions, slightly dampen surfaces when water is available.
