1080p Cinema SmoothGen-6 Light Engine

Samsung is a worldwide leader in creating light engines that harness Texas Instruments’ Digital Light Processing technology. Samsung’s Cinema Smooth light engine brings together the right optics, electronic circuitry and replaceable light source to create a brilliant picture that’s more lifelike and much closer to film. Samsung’s Gen-6 (sixth generation) Cinema Smooth light engines release the maximum power of DLP microdisplays for a remarkably film-like picture. They create a crisp, high-definition image with no visible pixel structure, accurate shading and better low-light detail. The Gen-6 light engine also delivers brighter, higher contrast images than our earlier designs.

Advanced Picture Quality

Samsung’s DNIe –

Digital Natural Image engine

Samsung’s Digital Natural Image engine makes input signals sharper, clearer and more lifelike. Its advanced image processors and six-times density enhancer help to create true-to-life colors and high contrast, while virtually eliminating digital artifacts.

1080p: The next level of HD performance

These models can display the full 1920 x 1080p High Definition format. All HD video is converted to 1080p for a picture with higher contrast ratios, better brightness and improved perceived resolution, particularly for content that was produced in the native 1920 x 1080 pixel count format.

Six-times Density Enhancer

This groundbreaking image resolution enhancer displays extremely high-resolution pictures that are six times as dense as the input’s sample rate for sharper images.

Motion Optimizer

Fast-moving images are optimized to produce more natural-looking motion, thus reducing video noise or blurring.

Contrast Enhancer

Brightness and contrast levels are enhanced for deeper, richer blacks with greater detail, and more natural whites.

About the size of a postage stamp, the DLP chip is covered with tiny mirrors.

DLPTV by Samsung employs a Texas Instruments DLP chip. These new-generation microdisplays have switching speeds twice as fast as previous generations and up to 1,000 times faster than competing microdisplay technologies. When combined with Samsung’s new Cinema Smooth light engine, the result is a crisp, bright picture with deep, rich colors that’s closer to film.

Detail Enhancer

DNIe analyzes video signal elements in order to produce sharper detail, clearer image separation and more natural edge transition.

Color Optimizer

Colors are reproduced with a more lifelike realism, whites are more accurate, and skin tones are given a more natural hue.

Worry-free connections

DTV and DVD

Compatible

HDMI3 allows for the transmission of both video and audio digital signals through a single connection for higher quality and fewer wires. Fully backward compatible with DVIinterface-equipped products using an adapter (not included). These 1080p models come with two HDMI inputs.

Connect your digital sources with smart component inputs that accept 480i/480p/720p/1080i signals.

PC Compatible

Use your DLP TV by Samsung’s remote to enjoy the world of digital cable and HDTV thanks to CableCARDtechnology.4 For the times when

digital cable features require a set-top box,

Digital Cable Ready such as Video-On-Demand, you can connect that box to a second input.

other A/V components.

3Currently, HDMI, DVI and Component inputs can only accept up to 1080i signals. All 1080i signals are converted to 1080p. Off-air 1080p signals are displayed in their broadcast format.

4Cable TV features like Pay-Per-View and Video-On-Demand require a cable box. CableCARD is provided by your cable service provider.
