Pariston, käyttöoppaan tai pakkauksen tämä merkintä tarkoittaa, että tämän tuotteen sisältämiä paristoja ei saa hävittää muun kotitalousjätteen seassa, kun niiden käyttöikä on päättynyt. Kemiallinen symboli Hg, Cd tai Pb ilmaisee, että paristo sisältää elohopeaa, kadmiumia tai lyijyä ylin EU:n direktiivien 2006/66 viiterajojen. Jos paristoja ei hävitetä oikein, nämä aineet voivat vahingoittaa ihmisten terveyttä tai ympäristöä.
