Tip: You may wish to clean you r blender cutting ass embly as follows:
Squirt a small amount of dishwashing liquid into as sembled blender jar
and fill halfway with warm water. Select Mix and run for 30 seconds, or
as needed. Repeat, usin g clean tap water. Empty blend er jar and
carefully disassemble pa rts. Wash cutting ass embly, gasket and
locking ring in warm, soa py water. Rinse and dry all p arts thoroughly.
DOs AND DON’Ts WHEN USING YOUR BLENDERDO:
• Make sure the electrical outlet is rated at the s ame voltage as that
stated on the bottom of the blender motor base.
• Always use the blender on a clean, sturdy and dr y surface.
• Always add liquid ingredients to the blender jar first, then a dd
remaining ingre dients. This wi ll ensure that i ngredients are
uniformly mixed.
• Cut most foods into approxima tely ½-inch (1.3 cm) to 1-inch
(2.5 cm) cubes to achieve a more uniform result. Cu t all cheeses
into pieces no larger th an ½-inch (1.3 cm).
• Use the measured pour li d to measure liquid ingre dients such
as alcohol. Replace meas ured pour lid after in gredients have
been added.
• Use a rubber or plastic spatula as needed, only when the blender
is turned off. Never use me tal utensils, as damage may occur to
the blender jar or cut ting assembly.
• Place cover on firmly. Always oper ate the blender with the
cover on.
• Make sure locking ring is tightly attached to ble nder jar.
• Always remove locking ring, cu tting assembly, and rubber gasket
before cleaning.
• When scraping the blend er jar with a spatula, remove the food from
the sides of the blender jar and place food in the center of the
blender jar, over the cutting a ssembly.
• When chopping fresh he rbs, garlic, onion, zest, bread crumbs,
nuts, spices, etc, make sure the blender jar and cutting assembly
are completely dry.
• Pulses should be shor t bursts. Space the pul ses so the blades stop
rotating between pulses. If food tends to stick to the sides of the
blender jar when blend ing, pulse in short b ursts.
DON’T:
• Don’t store food or liquids in your blender jar.
• Don’t place cutting asse mbly and locking ring o nto motor base
without the blender jar attached.
• Don’t attempt to mash potatoe s, knead heavy dough, o r beat
egg whites.
• Don’t remove blender jar whi le unit is on. Keep the b lender jar
cover on the blender jar while blending.
• Don’t twist locking ring from blender jar when removing blender jar
from motor base. Simply lif t blender jar from motor base.
• Don’t overprocess foods. Ble nder will achieve most des ired results
in seconds, not minutes.
• Don’t overload blender. If the motor stalls, press STOP butto n
immediately, unplug the unit, and remove a portion of the food,
then continue.
• Don’t use any utensil inside the blender jar while the motor is on.
• Don’t use any container or accessories not recom mended by
Cuisinart. Doing so may result in injury.
• Don’t place hands inside t he blender jar when bl ender is
plugged in.
• Don’t add boiling liquids or frozen foods (except ice cu bes or
½-inch pieces of frozen fruit) to glass blender jar. Boiling liquids
should cool for 5 minutes before being placed in blender jar.
