JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group)

En komprimeringsmetode med kvalitetstap for digitale bilder. JPEG-bilder blir komprimert for å redusere den totale filstørrelsen med minimal forringelse av bildeoppløsningen.

LCD (Liquid Crystal Display)

En visuell skjerm som vanligvis brukes i forbrukerelektronikk. Denne skjermen trenger et eget baklys, for eksempel CCFL eller LED, for å reprodusere farger.

Makro

Kvalitet

Et uttrykk for komprimeringsgraden som brukes i et digitalt bilde. Bilder av høy kvalitet har lavere komprimeringsgrad, som vanligvis resulterer i en større filstørrelse.

Oppløsning

Antall piksler som finnes i et digitalt bilde. Bilder med høy oppløsning inneholder flere piksler og viser vanligvis flere detaljer enn bilder med lav oppløsning.
