A hisztogram (eloszlási görbe) egy olyan grafikon, amely azt mutatja, hogyan oszlik el a fény a fényképen. Ha a hisztogramnak magas csúcsa van baloldalt, a fénykép túl sötét. Ha a grafikon jobb oldalán található csúcs, a fénykép túl világos. A csúcsok magassága a színadatokhoz kapcsolódik. Minél több van egy adott színből, annál magasabb a csúcs.
