Ava väärtus

Ava on auk, millest läbi valgust vastu võetakse. Saate ava väärtust reguleerida, et määrata, kui palju valgust pildistades objektiivini jõuab. Ava väärtust vähendades (ava laiemalt avades) siseneb rohkem valgust ja kaugemal olevad objektid näivad fookusest väljas. See on hea lähivõtte või portree puhul põhiobjektile tähelepanu tõmbamiseks.

Samas kui te ava väärtust suurendate, on nii lähedal kui ka kaugel asuvad objektid teravas fookuses. See on hea maastikuvõtete puhul kogu stseeni ulatuse näitamiseks.

Säriaeg

Säriaeg (katiku kiirus) määrab, kui kauaks kaamera katik foto jäädvustamisel avatuks jääb. Kui katiku kiirust vähendate, siseneb kaamerasse rohkem valgust ja foto näib eredam. Aeglasem katiku kiirus võib aga muuta fotod häguseks, kui objekt või kaamera liigub.

Kui katiku kiirust suurendate, näib foto tumedam. Samas suurem katiku kiirus vähendab ka hägusust, kui objekt või kaamera liigub.
