RDS-järjestelmän (Radio Data System) käyttäminen FM-asemien vastaanottamiseen

RDS-toiminto mahdollistaa FM-asemille normaalin ohjelmasignaalin ohessa lähetettävän ylimääräisen signaalin käytön. Sitä käyttämällä radioasemat voivat esimerkiksi näyttää virittimen näytössä aseman sekä lähetettävän ohjelmatyypin nimen kuten urheilu, musiikki jne.

RDS-toiminnon kuvaus

• PTY (Ohjelmatyyppi) : Näyttää parhaillaan lähetettävän ohjelman tyypin.

•PS NAME (Ohjelmapalvelun nimi) : Näyttää senhetkisen aseman nimen, koostuu 8 kirjainmerkistä.

•RT (Radiotekstit) : Purkaa radioaseman laatiman tekstin (jos sellaista käytetään) koodauksen ja koostuu korkeintaan 64 kirjainmerkistä.

•CT (Kellonaika) : Purkaa ja esittää FM-aseman lähettämän senhetkisen kellonajan.

•TA (Liikennetiedote) : "TA ON" ilmaisee, että liikennetiedotus on käynnissä.

MM`` RDS ei välttämättä toimi kunnolla, jos senhetkinen radioasema ei lähetä kunnollista RDS-signaalia tai jos signaali ei ole riittävän voimakas.

`` Jotkin asemat eivät ehkä lähetä PTY-, RT- tai CT-tietoja, joten nämä tiedot eivät välttämättä aina näy näytössä.

RDS-signaalien näyttäminen

Voit nähdä aseman lähettämät RDS-signaalit näytössä.

Paina RDS DISPLAY -painiketta FM-asemaa kuunnellessasi.

`` Näyttö vaihtuu jokaisella painikkeen painalluksella ja esittää vuorotellen seuraavat tiedot: PS NAME ; RT ; CT ; Frequency

•PS (Program Service) : Haun aikana näytössä näkyy "PS", minkä jälkeen radioasemien nimet tulevat näkyviin. "NO PS" tulee näkyviin, jos signaalia ei lähetetä.

•RT(Radiotekstit) : ”RT” tulee näkyviin haun aikana, ja aseman lähettämät tekstisanomat näkyvät näytössä.”NO RT” tulee näkyviin, jos signaalia ei lähetetä.

•Taajuus : aseman taajuus (ei-RDS-palvelu)

Näytöllä näkyvistä kirjainmerkeistä

Kun näytössä näkyy PS- tai RT-signaaleja, seuraavat kirjainmerkit ovat käytössä.

•Näyttöikkuna ei pysty erottamaan toisistaan isoja ja pieniä kirjaimia ja se käyttää aina isoja kirjaimia.

•Näyttö ei pysty näyttämään esim. aksentilla varustettuja kirjaimia, ja näytössä voi siksi näkyä <A> silloin, kun tekstissä muuten olisi esim. <À, Â, Ä, Á, Å tai Ã.>
