Configuring the PIP/PBP Settings

A detailed description of each function is provided. Refer to your product for details.

PIP/PBP Mode

Enable or disable the PIP/PBP Mode function.

The PIP (Picture in Picture) function separates the screen into two parts. One source device is displayed on the main screen at the same time the another source device is displayed in inset windows.

The PBP (Picture by Picture) function separates the screen in half displaying output from two different source devices simultaneously on the left and right sides of the screen.

――PIP/PBP mode is compatible with Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10.

――The PIP/PBP function may not be available depending on the specifications of the graphics card used. If the screen is blank in PIP/PBP mode when the optimum resolution is selected, go to Control Panel Display Screen Resolution and click Detect on the PC. (Instructions are based on Windows 7.) If the screen is blank when the resolution is set to the optimum resolution, change the resolution to 1280 x 1024.

――The screen may flicker briefly or appear after a delay when you enable or disable the PIP/PBP function or when you change the screen size with the PIP/PBP function activated.

This can typically arise when a PC and a monitor are connected to two or more input sources. It has nothing to do with the performance of a monitor.

The issue is mainly caused when the video signals are delayed in transmission to the monitor depending on the graphics card performance.

Return

――The displayed image may differ depending on the model.

――To maximize the picture quality, it is recommended to use a graphics card that supports WQHD+ (3440 x 1440) resolution.

――When using PIP/PBP, automatic switching to the optimum resolution and frequency is not available, due to conformance with the graphics card and Windows. Set PIP/PBP Mode to Off. Alternatively, restart the monitor, then set the resolution to the optimum setting using the Windows interface.

――If there are several inputs with different vertical frequencies when using PIP/PBP Mode, a lower vertical frequency is applied.

For example, if input 1 is 50 Hz and input 2 is 100 Hz, the vertical frequency is set to 50 Hz. With two 100 Hz input sources in PIP/PBP Mode, the vertical frequency maximum is 60 Hz.

One of the standout features of these monitors is their impressive 34-inch Ultra-Wide Quad HD resolution, boasting 3440 x 1440 pixels. This allows for a wider field of view and greater detail, making it ideal for multitasking, gaming, and professional applications. With an 178-degree viewing angle, users can enjoy consistent picture quality from various positions, which is particularly beneficial in collaborative environments.

The curved design of the Samsung LC34F791 series enhances immersion by wrapping the screen around the viewer’s natural field of vision. This curvature, combined with Samsung's Quantum Dot technology, provides vibrant colors and high brightness, enabling rich visual experiences that are both engaging and enjoyable. The monitors cover 125% of the sRGB color spectrum, ensuring that images appear true to life and full of detail.

Another key technological advancement is the VA panel used in these monitors. The contrast ratio of 3000:1 enhances the viewing experience, making images pop with depth and clarity.

The Samsung LC34F791 models also feature Picture-by-Picture (PBP) mode, which allows users to connect two different devices and view them simultaneously without losing image quality. This feature is particularly advantageous for professionals who need to reference multiple sources or for gamers who wish to stream while playing.

In terms of connectivity, these monitors offer multiple HDMI inputs, a DisplayPort, and USB ports, providing flexibility for various devices. The built-in speakers add convenience, eliminating the need for external audio solutions in certain setups.
