Connections

Connecting to an AV Device

Using an HDMI or HDMI/DVI cable: HD connection (up to 1080p)
Available devices: DVD, Blu-ray player, HD cable box, HD STB (Set-Top-Box) satellite receiver, cable box, STB satellite receiver

HDMI IN 1(DVI), 2, 3, PC/DVI AUDIO IN

When using an HDMI/DVI cab le connection, you must use the HD MI IN 1(DVI) jack. For the DVI cable
connection, use a DVI to HDMI cabl e or DVI-HDMI (DVI to HDMI) adapter for vid eo connection and the
PC/DVI AUDIO IN jacks for audio.

If an external device such a s a DVD / Blu-ray player / Cable Box / STB satelli te receiver supporting a HDM I
versions older than 1.3 is connecte d, the TV may operate abnormall y (e.g. no screen display / no sound /
annoying flicker / abnor mal colour).

If there is no sound after conn ecting an HDMI cable, check th e HDMI version of the external dev ice. If the
version is older than 1.3, contact the prov ider of the corresponding de vice to confirm the HDMI versio n and
request an upgrade.

It is recommended you purch ase an HDMI-certifie d cable. Otherwise, the scre en may appear blank or a
connection error may occu r.
Using a Component (up to 1080p) or Audio/Video (480i only) and Scart Cable
Available devices: VCR, DVD, Blu-ray player, cable box, STB satellite receiver
In Ext. mode, DTV Out sup ports MPEG SD Video and Audio o nly.
To obtain the best picture quality, the Comp onent connection is recomm ended over the A/V conn ection.
