Mis on järelkujutise sissepõlemine?

Järelkujutis ei tohiks sisse põleda, kui LCD-paneel töötab tavapäraselt. Tavapärane töö tähendab pidevalt muutuvat videopilti. Kui LCD-paneel näitab fikseeritud pilti pikema aja jooksul (rohkem kui 12 tundi), võib vedelkristalli juhtivate pikslite elektroodide vahel toimuda kerge pingemuutus.

Selline pingeerinevus elektroodide vahel suureneb aja jooksul ja muudab vedelkristallid õhemaks. Sellisel juhul võib pildi muutumisel jääda ekraanile eelnev kujutis. Selle ärahoidmiseks tuleks vähendada kogunenud elektrilaengute erinevust.
