-Клиентът XPe е клиент-сървърно базирана изчислителна платформа. На тази платформа клиентът се обръща към сървъра всеки път, когато му е нужна програма и приема само екраните с потребителския интерфейс от сървъра. Затова се използват различни програми, като ICA, RDP, и VNC, които са инсталират на клиент XPe, за да помагат в достъпа на клиента до сървъра и изпълняват потребителски задания.

Citrix Program Neighborhood

Independent Computing Architecture (Независимата изчислителна архитектура) (ICA) ви дава възможност да използвате приложения на сървъра чрез широка гама от платформи и мрежи независимо от тяхната база.

Сървърът ICA MetaFrame отделя вътрешната логика на приложенията от потребителския интерфейс. Благодарение на такова разделяне потребителите работят само с потребителския интерфейс на клиента. Действителното приложение е 100% работа на сървъра. Освен това работата на едно приложение чрез ICA използва само приблизително 10% честотна лента в сравнение с работата му местно.
