White Balance
Using the White Balance function, you can select a setting that matches the light illuminating the subject you
are shooting (Daylight, Fluorescent, etc.), Based on your selection, the eameorder automatically adjusts the
color of the subject so the colors in your recording or photo look natural,

Select Video (_) or Photo (_ )mode by pressing the MODE bu_ton. _page 4{)
1o Touch the Menu (_) tab -*"White Balance."
2o Touch adesired submenu item.
3o To exitthe menu,touch the Exit (_)or Return ( )tab.
- Auto: Sets the whRe balance automatically in response to the available light.
- Daylight (©): Forrecording outdoors in char, natural light.
- Cloudy (c%'>):For recording inthe shade or cloudy weather.
Fluorescent ({q ):Forrecording underwhite fluorescent lights.
Tungsten (@): For recording under halogen lamps and incandescent lights.
Custom WB (_c_):Letsyou setthe white balance manuallyto match the light sourceor situatbn.

To set the white balance manually
Touch the Menu (_F_u})tab -*"White Balance" -_"Custom WB."
The "_) Set White Balance'indicator appears.
Fillthe screen with a white object, and touch OK (_) tab.
The camcorder stores the white balance setting.
To exitthe menu, touch the Exit (Q)or Return (_) tab.
The camcorder applies the stored white balance the nexttime
you record.
Understanding White Balance:
The Whke balance (WB) process removes unrealistic color casts, so that whke
objects appear white inyour photos and all other colors looknalural. Proper
whke balance has to take into account the"color temperature" of alight
source, which refersto the relativewarmth or coolness of white light.
o When setting thewhite balance manually, thesubject mustbe white, otherwise,
your camcorder may not detect anappropriate setting value.
o Theadjusted setting remains untilyou setthe white balance again.
o During normal outdoor recording, setting White Balance to "Auto" may provide
better results.
o Cancel the digital zoom function for a clear and precise white balance setting.
o Reset the white balance if light conditions change.
