5 Congure IP settings.
Select Obtain an IP address
automatically when using DHCP. If
you use a static IP, select Use the
following IP address and enter the
values.
If the IP of your computer is not
automatically assigned, contact the
network administrator.
6 If all settings are made, click OK. Now
the network conguration is nished.

Using both DHCP and a xed IP

simultaneously

Using the Alternate Conguration
provided by Windows, you can set both
automatic and xed IP addresses and
then you can select to use either of them
to connect to the Internet.
1 For Windows 7
Click Start > Control Panel >
Network and Internet > Network
and Sharing Center and click on
Change adapter settings in the
left menu pane.
For Windows XP
Click Start > Control Panel
> Network and Internet
Connections > Network
Connection > Local Area
Connection by using the right
button of the touch pad and click
Properties.
2 Right-click over the Local Area
Connection and select Properties.
