SAR-testit suoritetaan normaaleissa käyttötilanteissa puhelimen toimiessa lähettimenä suurimmalla tehotasolla kaikilla testattavilla taajuuksilla. Vaikka SAR-arvot määritetään suurimmalla tehotasolla, puhelimen käytönaikainen SAR-taso voi olla selvästi enimmäistasoa alhaisempi.
