Structure of folders and ﬁles on the storage media

•The folder and ﬁ le structure for built-in memory (8GB (SMX-F33(2)BP/LP/RP/SP only)/16GB (SMX-F34(0)BP/LP/ RP/SP only)) or memory card is as follows.

•Don’t arbitrarily change or remove the folder or ﬁ le name. It may not be playable.

Movie Images (H.264) ①

The SD-quality movie images are named as “SDV_####.MP4” and Web movie images are named as “WEB_####.MP4”. The ﬁ le number automatically increases when a new movie image ﬁ le is created. Up to 9999 ﬁ les are created in one folder. A new folder is created when more than 9999th ﬁ les are created.

Photo Images ②

As in movie image ﬁ les, the ﬁ le number automatically increases when a new image

ﬁle is created. The maximum ﬁ le number allowed is the same as in movie image

ﬁles. A new folder stores ﬁ les from CAM_0001.JPG. The folder name increases in the order of 100PHOTO 101PHOTO etc. Up to 9999 ﬁ les are created in one folder. A new folder is created when more than 9999th ﬁ les are created.

Movie Images

•Movie images are compressed in H.264 format. The ﬁ le extension is ".MP4."

•The image size is 720X576(50i) or 640x480(WEB). ➥page 66

Photo Images

•Photo images are compressed in JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) format. The ﬁ le extension is ".JPG."

•The image size is 800x600.

• When the 9999th ﬁ le is created in the 999th folder (i.e. SDV_9999.MP4 is created in the 999 VIDEO folder), a new folder cannot be created anymore. Backup your ﬁ les to a PC and format the storage media, and then reset

ﬁ le numbering from the menu.

•The name of a movie ﬁ le recorded by the camcorder should not be modiﬁ ed, since proper playback by the camcorder requires original folder and ﬁ le naming convention.

•The photo image is taken only in the 4:3 aspect ratio.
