Navigation Pad – Sweeping

The Navigation Pad allows you to use both single press activation (previous page) and a scrolling/sweeping motion.

This “sweeping” action across either the Horizontal or Vertical area of the Navigation Pad (similar to that of a notebook’s touchpad) allows you to scroll by a set interval.

Examples of sweeping:

Half Sweep allows you to scroll through a menu or list by one selection at a time with each half sweep. This dragging action only covers a small section of the pad.

Full Sweep allows you to scroll by two selections at a time with each full sweep. This dragging action covers an entire side of the pad (the entire top/bottom/side).

Using the Virtual Keypad

UpStageTM gives you the ability to choose how you would like to enter information.

Although most phones only let you use the keypad to enter text and numbers, UpStage goes one step beyond by giving you the choice (on certain data entry screens) to use either the phone’s keypad or a Virtual Keypad, which is driven by the Navigation Pad.

To use the Virtual Keypad:

Each version of the Virtual Keypad contains a vertical selection at the left of the screen. To use this feature, just press the Up or Down keys to make a selection.

Use your Navigation Pad to scroll down the column and highlight your selection. Entering text using the Virtual Keypad is made easier as the phone implements a smart dictionary to help determine the correct word.

With the correct value or letter selected, press to accept the entry. Continue making selections.

Press Done (left softkey) to accept the entry and continue to the next screen.
