Normal B ody Tem perat ure flu ctuate s duri ng the

"normal" body tem peratur e is 98. 6°F(37. 0°C) for
oral. An axi llary or u nderarm r eading is usually is
1.0°F (0. 5°C) low er 97.6 °F (36.4 °C) and a recta l
temperature is usuall y 1.0°F higher (0 .5°C) 99.6°F
(37.5°C) . Body temper ature readin gs tend to be
lowest in the morning h ours from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m.
while y our bo dy is r estin g and is hig hest d uring
late a ftern oon h ours from 4 p.m . bec ause your
body has been active th roughout the day.
Prior t o each use c lean the th ermom eter with a
soft cl oth m oiste ned wi th ru bbing alco hol (7 0%
isopro pyl a lcoho l) di luted with warm water , OR
wash with cold, so apy water. An i ntact unit can be
sub me rse d i n 5 0% wa ter an d 5 0% al co hol ;
howeve r do n ot so ak fo r an e xtend ed pe riod of
time. Be sure to dry thermometer thorou ghly using
soft cloth.

is taken.
When the "188.8" s ymbol is conti nuously flashi ng,
the battery needs to b e replaced with
an SG3 silver oxide typ e.
1.Slide battery cap awa y from unit.
2.Rem ove the b atte ry u sing a sm all P hil lips -
head or j eweler' s screw driver and ins ert new
battery with the positi ve (+) side facing up.
3. Carefull y slide ba ttery cap back into its plac e,
making s ure the cap is secur ely fit to pro tect
battery from moisture.

according to the instru ctions provided.
2. Plac e a n ew or clean and u ndam aged probe
cover carefully over th e thermometer tip.
3. Se l ec t or a l, a xi l la r y o r re c ta l as y ou r

4. Press On/Off butto n to ac tivate thermo meter.

stop a flashing and four qu ick beeps will soun d.
5. To turn the unit off , press t he On/Off button, otherwis e
the unit wi ll autom atical ly shut- off aft er appr oximate ly
10 minutes to preserve batt ery life.
