Setting Up the Parental Control

The Parental Control function works in conjunction with DVDs that have been assigned a rating - which helps you control the types of DVDs that your family watches. There are up to 8 rating levels on a disc.

	With the unit in Stop mode/No Disc mode, press
1 the MENU button on the remote control.
	Press the …† buttons to select Setup, then press
2 the ENTER or √ button.

			Parental Control		√
		MOVE	ENTER	RETURN	EXIT

Press the …† buttons to select Parental Control,
3 then press the ENTER or √ button.

	Timer Rec.
	Setup	Create the password

NUMBER ENTER RETURN EXIT

Create a 4-digit password using the 0 to 9 buttons
4 on the remote control.
	DVD-Recorder		Parental Control

	Timer Rec.
	Setup	Confirm the password

NUMBER ENTER RETURN EXIT

The Re-enter Password screen appears to confirm
5 the password. Enter your password again, and
then press the ENTER or √ button.

MOVE ENTER RETURN EXIT

6 Press the …† buttons to select On, then press the ENTER or √ button.

About the Rating Level

2 Press the …† buttons to select the rating level you want, then press the ENTER or √ button.

For example, if you select up to Level 6, discs that contain Level 7, 8 will not play. A larger number indicates that the program is intended for adult use only.
