Someone should be within range of your voice or close enough to
come to your aid when you are working near a lead-acid batter y.
Have plenty of fresh water and soap nearby in c ase battery acid
contacts skin, clothing, or eyes. If acid enters the eye area, rinse
with c old wa ter for at least 10 mi nutes a nd get medic al help
immediately.
Do not smoke, or use matches or cig arette lighter, or allow any
spark or ame near the battery or engine.
Never operate the power source unit if it has damaged lead wire or
clamps. Have the lead wire replaced by a qualied technician.
Do not pe rmit internal battery to freeze. Never charge a frozen
battery.

1. Turn ignition off before making cable connections.
2. Keep clear of fan blades, belts, pulleys and other part s that
may cause injury.
3. Never allow clamps to touch together or to co ntact the same
piece of metal to prevent sparking.
4. Use in a well-ventilated area.
5. Clamp the red clamp (+) to the positive terminal of the battery.
(For a negative grounded system.)
6. Clamp the black clamp (-) to an unpainted and unmoving part
of the chassis or engine block.
7. You can now crank the engine. If the engine does not star t
within 5-8 seconds, stop and wait at le ast 1 minu te before
attempting to start vehicle again.
8. After the engine star ts, rst disconnect the black clamp and
then the red clamp in that order. Store the clamps on the ears
located on the back of the case.
9. Recharge the product as soon as possible after use.
led indicators
There are 4 LED internal battery status indicator lights. Pre ss the
BATTERY STATUS button on the front of the IPD-1000 to determine
the internal battery power.
Note: Numbers 1–3 below indicate charge level when not connected
to AC power source or placed in docking station cradle.
1. The green C HARGED LED indicates the internal battery is
fully charged.
2. The yellow RECHARGE LED indicates a 50 to 75% charge.
The IPD-1000 may be used but should be recharged as soon
as possible.
3. The red R ECHARGE LED indicates a 50% or l ess charge;
immediately recharge the IPD-1000.
4. The red CHARGING LED indicates the IPD-1000 is charging
(connected to AC power source or placed in docki ng station
cradle). At full charge, the green CHARGED LED will light.
charging of internal battery
After removing the IPD-1000 f rom the carton, charge it overnight
before using even if the green CHARGED LED glows.
1. To charge, plug wall charger adaptor into the CHARGING
ADAPTOR PORT on the front of the device or in the IPD-1000
docking station cradle.
2. Plug the wall charger into a 120V AC electrical wall outlet. The
red CHARGING LED will glow indicating there is power to the
docking station cradle or unit.
3. The CHARGED LED will glow green when the battery has
reached full charge. This could t ake up to 24 hours on some
charges due to age and condition of the battery. The charger
will automat ically dro p into a oat mode and m aintain the
battery at full charge without damaging batter y.
WARNING: Keep moisture, ammable materials and metal away
for the cradle/tray. The metal contacts are electrically live and may
spark when in use.

multi-purpose power supply
The IPD-1000 is a power source for all 12 volt DC accessories
equipped with a 12 volt accessory plug. Make sure the device to
be powered is OFF before inserting 12 volt accessory plug into 12
volt accessory outlet located on right side. The DC socket has a 15
amp automatic overload protection circuit breaker. The breaker will
automatically reset after an overload occurs.
