Store charger unplugged, in an upright position. Cord will still conduct 13.1

electricity until it is unplugged from outlet.

Store inside in a dry, cool place (unless you’re using an on-board Marine 13.2

Do not store clips on handle, clipped together, on or around metal, or 13.3

clipped to cables.

TROUBLESHOOTING14.

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE REASON/SOLUTION

A battery is connected but
the LCD display still shows
CONNECT BATTERY
The battery clips are not
making a good connection.
The battery connections are
reversed.
The battery is severely
discharged.
Check for a poor connection
to the battery and/or frame.
Make sure connection points
are clean. Rock the clips
back and forth for a better
connection.
Unplug the charger and
reverse the clips.
If your battery does not have
.2V, you must press and
hold the CHARGE ON/OFF
button for ve seconds to get
the charge cycle started.
The LCD display shows:
CHARGE ABORTED, BAD
BATTERY and beeps four
times
The battery is defective (will
not accept a charge).
Weak or sulfated plate in the
battery.
Wrong battery voltage.
Have the battery checked.
Have the battery checked.
Verify the CHARGE VOLT-
AGE setting on the charger.
Make sure it matches the
battery being charged.
The LCD display shows:
BAD BATTERY and beeps
four times then switches to
CONNECT BATTERY
The battery is bad or
sulfated. In the case of a severely dis-
charged battery, the charger
will go into abort mode. If,
after the output turns off, the
battery voltage drops to un-
der .2 volts, the charger will
reset to the default settings
and the display will show
12V FAST on the top line
and CONNECT BATTERY
on the bottom line.
